I’ve been trying to learn more about Habit Trackers and Habit building in general,
According to you, what should a Habit Tracker accomplish apart from the following:
Allow you to break down larger goals into smaller, repeatable habits
Allow you to track, measure and quantify progress towards a certain goal
Allow you to review progress and manage habits to fine tune goal achievement
Remind you of your commitment to your goals
Provide a visual cue to prompt habit performance
Example
Goal: Save Rs. 10,000 this month
Habit: Eat home-cooked meals everyday of the week
Tracking: Track days habit fulfilled, and days unfulfilled, expenditure on days unfulfilled
Management: What triggered the expenditure? What can you do to avoid these triggers?
Reminder: Why are you saving this money? What will happen if you don’t save the money?
Cue: A ‘streak’ of days you have already eaten at home, do you really want to break it?
Please share anything from your own experience with habit building, or tracking, or anything else.
I believe a tracker should also include a count of achievements, no matter how small, the more we start recognising what we've done and actually being proud of ourselves the more we'll be able to build healthy habits
